The model Bentley simply calls the Torcal is the foundation of the new electric range, and it is far from a modest car: two electric motors produce 810 horsepower and 1,155 Nm (852 lb-ft) of torque, good for a 0-60 mph time of 3.3 seconds and a 155 mph top speed. Bentley quotes up to 373 miles of range and a 10 to 80 percent DC fast charge in 16 minutes. All-wheel drive, all-wheel steering and Bentley Active Ride adaptive suspension come standard. Bentley has stated a US starting price of $218,000, and Bentley Manhattan on 11th Avenue can walk you through configuring one.

Bentley's own description is a "new standard for the performance SUV," and the way the company frames the car is telling: rather than chasing the biggest number on a spec sheet, the Torcal is meant to deliver exhilarating electric performance alongside what Bentley calls life-enhancing luxury. Outside, satin silver detailing frames the car, and the diamond grille is lit in clear crystal tones. The silhouette is deliberately minimalist, with a tailgate shape borrowed from the luggage carrier on the historic Blue Train Bentley and a gloss black horseshoe beneath it that emphasizes the width of the rear haunches.
What defines the car is its balance. It keeps a lighter, more refined look and carries the full list of connected, comfort and driver-assistance features Bentley offers on the range, with performance that never needs to announce itself.
With 810 horsepower from two electric motors, the Torcal covers 0-60 mph in 3.3 seconds, a figure Bentley pairs with a top speed of 155 mph. The numbers sound extreme, but the character Bentley describes is closer to effortless than frantic, helped by Bentley Active Ride, which gives each wheel a two-valve damper and its own electrically controlled hydraulic pump so that body roll is controlled without conventional anti-roll bars. The rear wheels steer opposite the fronts at low speed by up to five degrees, which cuts the turning circle to 11 meters (36.4 feet) and makes a tight Manhattan garage ramp far less of a negotiation.
Bentley lists a maximum range of 373 miles (600 km), and quotes a 400 kW peak DC charging rate, with 10 to 80 percent taking about 16 minutes on a compatible charger. Both claims depend on conditions and on finding a compatible high-power charger, and the EPA has not yet published a rating for the car. Treat 373 miles as the ceiling and plan around what your own routes demand.
The cabin carries Ombre Walnut by Mulliner veneers, switchgear in a satin finish, and a single-color upholstery layout of handcrafted leather lower down and Dinamica higher up. Optional extras push it further: Wellness Seating adds cushion massage, heated armrests, automatic seat climate control and a Postural Adjust function that varies air pressure in the seat to reduce fatigue, and a pure Merino wool and leather combination from Fox Brothers is offered in five colors. The front seats offer 16-way power adjustment with heating, ventilation and massage, and the rear bench is powered and heated at the outer positions.
A 16-speaker, 620-watt Bentley Signature Audio system is standard. Naim for Bentley is the upgrade, with 28 speakers, 1,780 watts, Dolby Atmos 7.1.4 and speakers built into the driver's headrest that can whisper navigation prompts without disturbing the rest of the cabin.

For nearly every real-world situation, 810 horsepower and a 3.3-second sprint to 60 mph is more than enough, and the Torcal's character leans toward smooth rather than aggressive. A drive at Bentley Manhattan settles the question better than a spec sheet does.
Yes. Two motors, one at each axle, give every Torcal all-wheel drive, and all-wheel steering is part of the package too, which helps both in tight city parking and when changing lanes at speed.
Bentley lists Wellness Seating, a Merino wool and leather interior, the Frosted Diamond Switchable Sunroof, powered doors, the Naim for Bentley audio system and the Touring Assist driver-assistance package, which allows hands-free driving where regulations permit. Several of the assistance features are available in selected markets only, so confirm US availability with the sales team.
